Meet the team.

New York Matters depends on the expertise of CGR staff members and key content partners to provide research briefs and articles about issues throughout the 2006 election and beyond.

Kent Gardner, Ph.D., President & Chief Economist.

He leads CGR’s study of economics and public finance, bringing 20 years of experience studying NYS economic competitiveness. Dr. Gardner earned his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

Erika Rosenberg, B.A., Research Associate.

She works across a range of areas, with an emphasis on state government. Ms. Rosenberg has extensive background in news reporting and research covering an array of public policy topics, including state politics and government, education, mental health, immigration and voter registration. Prior to joining CGR, Ms. Rosenberg was a journalist who most recently worked for Gannett News Service in Albany.
