VOTER PRIORITIES

How do we know what New Yorkers care about? We asked.

In a statewide survey, we asked New Yorkers for their priorities in the key areas of quality of life, education, health care, economy, and state government.

We asked respondents for their priorities in two ways. One was an open-ended question at the start of the interview: Think for a moment about issues facing New York that a governor could do something about. What would you say is the greatest issue facing New York State?

Then, after asking respondents for their opinions and priorities in five topic areas (Quality of Life, Education, Economy, Health Care and State Government), we asked them to name their overall top priority of the five answers they had already given.
